After long hours on the road, you can unwind in our fully licensed bar. Olive’s Bar is open to all road users and is fast becoming the hottest venue for musical entertainment in Ipswich with a varied programme of live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. With the audience-wowing 60’s band The Martells, the smooth acoustic sound of the The Back Porch Band or even the laid back, foot tapping country singing of Suffolk performer Bob Whiting, the lorry park plays host to entertainment for everyone.
Other acts include Ricketyjim featuring Jim Crumlash and Rick on lead guitar, Words and Music as well as rockabilly rhythms band The Humdingers – don’t miss it! Show off your own talents at our karaoke and quiz nights.
The buzzing atmosphere of the annual Charity Quiz Night hosted by celebrity radio presenter Bob Strong is all in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice and attracts locals as well as drivers. Keen to support local charities, the Orwell Crossing welcomes the use of the venue for fundraising events.
The Crowfield Truck Rally was held in May 2009 as a fund raising event for the East Coast Truckers’ Charity, which organises events throughout the year for underprivileged children.
September 2009 was also a very successful month for the charity ride-out which gathered at Orwell Crossing before heading 50 miles to Norfolk to raise money for Campaign for Cancer in Suffolk. 150 bikers raised almost £1000 for John LeVay Cancer Support and St John’s Ambulance.
